Just what IS this pathological need some Blues have for a scapegoat in a Blue shirt!

It's gone on for as long as I can remember.  This years model is Richard Dunne evidently.

Yes he's having a bad run but get off his back FFS!.  If you look at the Bent's 1st goal incident from behind the ball bounced right in front of him and up over his shoulder towards an advancing Bent.  The only way he could have controlled it was with his hand and the conditions out there were appalling.

As for the sending off, what did you all want him to do....let Bent run straight past and get his hat-trick?  He had to go for it....he had no choice! He was damned if he did and damned if he didn't

He has been our most solid and consistent player for the last four years, a few poor games and a bit of bad luck does NOT make him shit.  Do you think HE will be happy with the way things have been going??  If you get on his back you'll destroy any confidence he has left and he will get much MUCH worse.  Richard Edghill anyone?????

Who are you gonna replace him with?  Ned???  Ben Haim??   Really??? and that gives you all confidence does it?  I'll stick with Dunney thanks.  Roll Eyes

You're talking shit to be honest he's been shite for the last 18 months if not a bit longer, granted he deserved player of the season before the last one. BUT he's costing us to many games, lacking alot of confidence, and should of been sold in the summer when £6 million was on the table. Really pisses me off that people keep going on about how he was the best player over previous seasons he was terrible last year barring the Liverpool at home game, I did put that down to us losing Dustbin alongside him, but he's been shocking all the way thru. He's nothing but a squad player now if we actual want to compete for anything...

Hughes open you're f0cking eyes, and drop the donkey!

I agree fully with that KC

Its embarrassing listening to our fans slag off players all the time. Its even worse at the games. How can we call a player shite after he has had about 6 bad games in the past 4 or 5 years?

Some people are conveniently forgetting all the last ditch tackles he does, all the blocks, all the goals he prevents and focus on about 3 or 4 goals a season where he has made a bit of a mistake. For every mistake Dunne costs us, he probably prevents about 25 goals. Same goes with Richards. Its the midfield that we are losing because of. We don't have a midfielder capable of holding onto the ball and calming things down

Also it surely it cant help the defence when we have a keeper who flaps about like a distressed pigeon whenever a ball comes into the area, or a keeper who cannot catch the simplest of crosses, or a keeper that keeps kicking shit hopeless balls up the pitch only for the defence to have to defend again as the other team come on the attack.

The only person to blame for yesterdays defeat is the stupidity of Gelson. Two pointless tackles cost us that game. Before Gelson went daft, we were well in control of the game

Top post.

Easy to blame Dunnie, but as Lee Dixon said last night he is under so much pressure because midfield is lacking another tackler

thats rubbish... why can garrido and and zabaleta perform, micah Richard's may be off the pace, but he hasn't made so many individual errors.##

was it the lack of midfielder that meant dunne lost his man in the box against twente, was it lack of defenders when dunne rifled a sheareresq shot against newcastle. was the midfield's fault his pushed bent or misjudged the ball so badly to let bent score.

with a combination of red cards and poor individual errors. i.e. liverpool, goals cam from gelson fernandes lack of ability to defend after we had some one sent off.

- Dunne has been poor at set pieces , cant distribute the ball, he bypasses every city player and boots it upfield. We although he didn't deserve player of the season last year, he was pretty bad towards the end, and his leadership skills have to come into question.

ben haim isn't a bad defender- people a willing to jump to the feet of mourinho, who also bought him because he isn't a bad player. Kompany is a great centre back. We need someone with confidence a leadership.

hughes has used elano as his scape goat, he is often the one who takes the pressure off the defense when they have the ball. comes deep to collect. dont see much difference to last season midfield!

maybe if the midfield stopped constantly giving the ball away, or even tried to win the damn thing back, the back 4 wouldnt be under so much pressure

i think micah needs to look at his form at the moment too...maybe dunne could then think about covering his pos rather than both

yes dunne is lacking a bit of form, yes every mistake is being punished, but typical city, we pick on one player for all our ills

dunne is making a good effort of singling himself out with alot of individual errors!

solid reliable dunnie hasn't been solid or reliable that should cause some concern.

richards has been at fault..  including hart as well, but both those players haven't made such glaring errors and them blames the midfield rather than their own poor form.

swp and ireland often sited for there tracking back and that was no different yesterday.

He never in a million years deserved his POS last year. I wonder if the mindless fans at the Supporters clubs will vote him in again out of spite rather than giving it to the player that deserves it. Last year by the way it was Petrov by miles and miles.

I think theres a few fans on this thread that don't actually play or have never, how can you say give Dunne a break after the numerous (which is too many) individual mistakes, he needs to be dropped and pull his finger out of his arse if he wants to stay at a club which is suppose to be going places. But feck it he was really good 2 seasons ago so give him a chance.  loopy

Points win prizes & we're not gettin many with that Joker sitting at the heart of our defence & ffs the midfield we've got at the moment is still 100 times better than it has been for years, so don't try to protect him by saying it's there fault, individual mistakes are costing us!
